Investing in Human Capital for Disaster Management (INVEST DM) Program

Seeks to provide a holistic approach to supporting Indonesian disaster management agencies, supporting a 'people-centered' BNPB approach with comprehensive inputs in the areas of: technical capacity in emergency preparedness-response-recovery; policy and planning; institutional governance; and organizational development. These areas are based on human resources, whose function is to capacitate and strengthen human resources that contribute to disaster management. This means supporting Indonesian Government personnel at the national and sub-national levels.

Outcomes/Purposes The Indonesian Government's disaster management institutions and key officials at the administrative level are equipped to fulfill their mandate to provide effective and life-saving disaster risk management services.

ASB conducted a study on Human Resources management at BNPB to see the extent of gender and disability inclusivity in HR management at BNPB.

ASB conducted a desk review to strengthen the organizational capacity of the BNPB Education and Training Center in providing disaster management (PB) training services and strengthen the organizational capacity of BNPB system and strategy deputies to develop and synchronize disaster management policies for the regions.
