Empowerment is expanding capabilities and widening opportunities for everyone in every sector to participate in, influence, contribute and lead in creating positive change within a given society. Empowerment is achieved through:
- Having access to information
- Participating in decision making
- Sharing, exchanging and building of knowledge, skills and resources
- Having the ability to hold accountable individuals and organisations that affect one’s life and community.
We see positive collaboration as central to delivering effective and cost-efficient programming. Much of our work is partnership and consortium-based. This approach benefits from each partner contributing their specialities and adding value. Collaborative approaches also expose us to new ideas and situations. These collaborations and partnerships challenge our thinking and support us to constantly reflect on and improve our work.
