It is with regret we share the sad news of the death of Stephanie Rahardja who passed away on 10 May 2015. Stephanie was a dedicated young advocate who was committed to the rights of Deaf people and people with hearing impairments, ensuring their views were taken into account and their voices were heard. Stephanie has been working with ASB since 2007 in production of IEC materials , raised awarenes and advocated for the need for disability in disaster risk reduction through participation in international DRR forum. Her work has contributed to the inclusion of disability in the new Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
ASB team wishes to acknowledge Stephanie’s contributions and send our condolences to Stephanie’s family, friends and colleagues.
A video ‘Include all, Safety for All’ of which Stephanie was heavily involved in creating has been made to promote the importance of inclusive DRR, and is dedicated to her memory.
